Yet another noobie Question

I am seriously considering getting into reloading. I have purchased the book "Modern Reloading Second Edition" by Richard Lee. I have gone through the book a couple of times, and quite frankly it seems pretty staight forword. Somebody at my shooting club has offered to let me watch/get me started, or generally be a mentor, as I would rather have someone look over my shoulder that has experience Reloading.

I am planning on one of the RCBS kits, but unsure of which one to get. I have looked at the Rock Chucker, and have heard, and read good things about them on this forum. What would be the major difference between the Rock Chucker, and the other presses that RCBS makes?

My second question has to do with dies. I will be reloading for 6.5x55 Swede initially. Do all dies fit in all Presses? ie. can I purchase Lee collet dies, and will they fit into the RCBS press? I have seached the forum for the answer, but was unable to come up with anything. If all dies fit all presses, this would suprise the C@$P out of me, as I just am unwilling to believe that the manufactures would come up with a standardized piece of equipment. The reason I ask, is that I have read good things about the Lee Collet dies, but have my eyes on an RCBS press. I have a pile of once fired brass and only want to neck size, that is my reasoning for the LEE Dies.

Thanks in advance for any info:D

yep LEE and RCBS dies are interchangeable.
Save your self some money and get a LEE anniversary Kit from Higginson Powders in ontario. You can buy powder/primers and bullets for your 6.5 all the same time. The box will come and you will have everything you need for a long time.

The lee collet neck size dies are great, you might also want to consider getting a lee factory crimp die for your swede.

Have fun with it, You'll never regret starting to reload for a 6.5x55,

The press come along with the anniversary kit is not as strong as the Lee cast iron press .

look for the thread size 7/8" x 14.
That means the thread outside diameter is 7/8", and there are 14 threads per inch. This is an industry standard for reloading dies, with the exception of very large diameter shells, such as 50BMG and bigger.

Amen on the rockchucker and the rcbs dies. I don't think that you can buy a stronger press. I tried the lee as a second and it is down the road. I'll stick to my rockchucker.
