So I gathered myself up a few types of ammo to try out of this puppy, And the pictures are pretty strait forward.

The gun has a 4 x 32 simmons scope, Its actually fairly old. A better scope will be in the near future for better accuracy I hope.

I read in another review that these guns dont like high velocity ammo But I think I proved that wrong.

Starting at 25 yards 5 shot groups with a crosswind of 17km/h

Heres what I could do at 50 yards with 4 shot groups. The federal bulk ammo is just holding the paper down, I believe with a better scope I could have accomplished better groups
At 50 yards with the CCI stingers I did loose my zero but they grouped very well.

Thanks for the range report and photos! I posted a report on my own findings a while back, and it was the CCI Subsonic HPs that won that day..and ever since. Have a look if you're interested;

I've been close to adding a 3-9x scope just to see what kind of accuracy I could get out of this gun, but I have my Anschutz 1450 for that. The 3x fixed-power just seems like such an ideal scope for the gun and close-range plinking...just can't bring myself to experiment!

Keep us posted, and try some of that HP if you get the chance.

Damn...I'm that predictable eh? lol I don't know where my fascination for these guns comes from, guess it's just that I've babied my other guns so long (due to their cost, sentimental value...or both) that it's sort of liberating to have a gun I don't mind banging around a little while hiking, or seeing it get rained or snowed-on a little. That's what I'm telling myself anyway... :)

Some of my .22cal

and you got all the bases covered. Maybe a single shot or a pump would be a nice addition ;)

But holy crap I was unaware of how good the new Henry's look. The one I have looks like a cheap Chinese BB-gun compared to the new ones.

Don't have that problem, but then again...I picked a small-ish scope too. They're CZ clones, so the bolt throw is high. (search CZ/Scope mount threads, there are many)

On my CZ, I started with BKL 300s (which are high, but functional) then changed over too a BKL-261. Works perfectly.
