Spoke with a Mr. Will Bilozir at the Edmonton gun show today, and he was pitching some very nice shotguns from Yildiz. Yildiz is a Turkish manufacturer of shotguns. The over/unders that he had in stock were excellent for the price. Their base model ($600-ish) was VERY nice, and had good contrast between a bright receiver vs a nice wood stock.

This was the last of the first Canadian shipment. Next shipment will arive in a couple of weeks, and I think I'm going to grab one. Has anyone had any experience with these?

Base model O/U is below

I think this guy was here in Regina at a gun show. I looked at these shotguns, they look and feel great. If I remember correctly the one for 600.00 didn't have ejectors you had to pay closer to a 1000.00 to get auto ejectors. I also would like to here feedback about these shotguns??

Found that Frontier Taxidermy & Firearms sells the Yildiz shotties out of Saskatchewan as well.

After looking around a while, there's another Turkish company putting out similar products. They're called Hatsan, and they make "optima" and "escort" shotguns. The Optima looks to be a competing product to the Yildiz shotties.

I have owned a Yildiz for the last year and a half, and have been pretty happy with it. The worst part was the waiting for shipments out of the small manufacturing plant in Turkey.

I find the gun to be very light, and the recoil is too much for me (I recently switched to left handed shooting). I installed a decellerator pad, machined the forcing cones, and used lighter loads........and I still feel a lot of recoil. The only other option for me is too add weight to the gun, which I am not excited about. I have probably 2000 rounds through the gun, with no functional problems. It is a very sharp looking gun, for the price.

I am looking to sell mine (base model SPZ M) with no ejectors, amd 28" bbls for $700
