Hi Everyone-

I'm looking at adding a new 20 gauge O/U to my collection for upland hunting with a little bit of skeet shooting use for my wife. I've been looking at the CZ and Yildiz O/U's. Thoughts? Issues?

Thanks

Both are reportedly good guns for the money as far as for hunting goes. I don't know how they would stand up to a lot of trap shooting but then again that is not what they were designed for. I had a CZ Canvasback in 20 gauge and it was indeed a nice gun. The fit and finish of metal to wood was very good. But I can't report on the reliability of it because I only fired it 9 times in 2 years. I sold it to another forum member as I am more into SxS's and I wanted to get an older classic.

Both are nice guns. Personally I'd take the cz over the other based on styling. As far as hunting wise they're both equally well suited. If the wife will be shooting it let her decide

Hi Drakes!

I own a CZ Canvasback in 20ga 26" for upland game and some clays...
So far so good, it shoots (well....for me) where I point...
+500 rounds so far and no hicups!
:)

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming, positive or negative. I would like to shoulder both before making the decision, but I'll likely have to go on reviews.

I owned a CZ Bobwhite in 20ga with 26" bbls. Used it for 6yrs with no problems. Shoots where it should and handled well. It was very good value for the money.

I believe the Yildiz have an aluminum receivers compared to a steel receiver for the CZ. I expect the Yildiz is a lighter gun, however I ended up buying a used 20 gauge CZ Bobwhite off SuperCub, which I really like, in fact I then went and bought a new 12 gauge CZ Bobwhite because I liked the 20 gauge so much! The 20 gauge 26" barrels weights 6lbs 4 ounces while the 12 gauge 28" inch barrels weights 6lbs 12 ounces
