I have said on more than one occasion, that I dislike the 223. I have thought it's not a very practical round for civilian purposes. I don't buy into the SHTF kill all my neighbours fantasy.

Now I have to recant that. I want to get into the 3 gun world, and as a competition caliber for rifle, the 223 is unmatched.

Therefore I bought my first modern black gun - the Tavor. I think right now for 3 gun, the Tavor is the best option. There may be more accurate guns, but time is important and the Tavor is just quicker. I've also seen the Tavor shoot near 1 MOA, so that's plenty accurate.

Yay - can't wait to get it in the mail!

Hey you're excited and you are now a black gun owner, we will let your above comment slide ;)

edited to add: I see you came to your senses and edited your original post :).

I've never ever gotten close to 1 moa with my Tavor, in reality you're looking at 2 to 3 moa if you're a good shooter, I'm at 4 to 5 moa cause I'm a mediocre shooter.

A gun's inherent accuracy can only be properly verified when shooting from a ransom rest. Everything else is subject to human error.

What optics are you looking at using?

Bushnell E1224, for some reason some sites have it as "Elite 4200 1.25-4x24", and some have it as "Elite E1224 1.25-4x24" - if you google "Bushnell Elite 1.25-4x24" you will see it.

I have a T1 + x3 Magnifier on another gun, and the Bushnell is better. I find it annoying that the red dot on the T1 becomes distorted under magnification. My T1 becomes a horizontal line under x3 mag.

I also like the Bushnell over the Trijicon 1-4 fiber optic. It's cheaper for one, and the Bushnell is superior in darkness, since the Tritium isn't all that bright on the Trijicon and will become dimmer over time.

T1 is known for washout under magnification. I guess there's only so much you can do with such a small package. If you want to get a 1.25-4x scope, you may also want to look at Leupold Mark AR with the Firedot reticle.

To all those that feel their Tavor's are not shooting as well as they had hoped, try some 68 to 77 grain ammo out of them. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Check youtube videos. There's a canuck shooting from prone in the snow that got 1 3/8 MOA.

I shot a 1 3/4 moa group with my sks does it make it a sub 2 moa rifle? No it doesn't. The tavor is a 2 moa at best well at least that's the best I've managed with it and I used 77gr match ammo.
