Just got the YL12 shotgun from Canada Ammo. The outdoor fun kit was too good to pass up since I was looking for an Ithaca shorty for my collection. The action is very as smooth the only hiccup was the user ;)

Anyway after a few hundred shells I will have a better idea of how well it works and do a review.

Looks better than I would have thought. Is it a rifled barrel? Choke tubes? Are there barrels available?

Its a plain barrel cylinder bore with no chokers. Not sure if an Ithaca barrel would be interchangeable or not. Really for what you are buying it perfect. A smooth bore slug gun for shoot slugs, buck and maybe target loads for some steel targets. If it holds up (I think it will because its solid feeling) its a great value.

The knife that comes with the set is the most ugly thin I've ever seen. Still a knife so its in my emergency bag in the truck. Can't wait to try there buckshot and slugs.

The sights are rough or should I say sharp! I striped the screw adjusting windage. At least screws are cheap. Its still a good deal and my shotgun functions well.

Looks to be the same model as my Stevens Savage 350 although I got the combo with a longer barrel as well. Mines had more rounds than I care to count and is usually great, but tends to fail to extract when I take it to the shotgun range. Somehow firing two shots then waiting a few minutes does something funny to it as far as heat cycling and shells start to stick. It does occasionally bulge crappy ammo at the extractor notch in the barrel which kicks the extractor off and jams result. I never seem to have that result on my own.

All in all a solid boom stick.

Oh and thanks for something you probably didn't realize you did, I had no idea CanadaAmmo was in Vancouver. So many sites avoid saying which province they're in and it makes a real difference when it comes to shipping times.
