I've noticed a lot of people put the Yodave trigger spring kits in their CZ's. Do these actually make a difference or would it be beneficial to spend the big bucks on a Timney trigger?

I'm not a competitor but I do enjoy shooting tiny 100yd groups. TC

I've used my CZ457MTR with a yodave spring for a year (in competitions), and just yesterday I've put a Timney. Yet to shoot.
Going to the range tomorrow to see if there is a difference.

Yodave spring makes huge difference to the pull weight. with Yodave spring I was able to tune down the pull weight to 12oz. With Timney I am at 8oz and am pretty sure I can get down to 6oz, but I didn't want to go this low.
Will give more info tomorrow

I have a 455 with a YoDave and a 457 VMTR with a Timney. The 455 is about 1# and the Timney is about 4-oz. Guess which gets more use . . .

I have shot a fri2nds Timney... it is really nice. That being said, I used the yodave in a 452 and is great and replaced the spring in my 457 with one a buddy got from an industrial supply store for really cheap and it is also really nice.

Sooo... just comes down to if you want the best or are happy with the trigger overall and just want a lighter pull weight.

Yodave really changed a lot for me. It reduce my trigger pull from 1lb8oz to 12oz. Just 20 dollars you should try it anyway.

If you want to save a buck you might as well get the yo Dave kit. A friend of mine had one of these in his rifle and it provided a very light and short pull, I on the other hand have a Rifle Basix trigger that came with my second hand 452. I think my trigger is about a pound. I only do bench rest with mine. Is the Timney a two-stage or a single stage trigger?

I was out to the range today. The Timney trigger feels really nice for sure, even comparing with Yodave. Though I can't say it's $300 better.

My conclusion on this: if you are a cost-conscious person, yodave spring should do the trick. If you want a high-end solution, go with Timney.
If I were to buy Timney again, I would do it, if I had some spare $$.

I have had both setups. I am currently running a timney trigger. If budget isn't an issue go timney and don't look back. The yodave spring kit makes a big difference to pull weight but doesn't change how much creep the trigger has. The timney has no creep.

Thanks for the replies. Even though I can buy them wholesale I think I'll pass on the Timney for now and go with the Yodave. I also want to put it in a MDT XRS chassis so the budget has to account for that as well. TC

Following....I've only had my 457 for about a month and 300 rounds now...I can't see why the trigger would need an upgrade. It seems like its already a massive step up from my old 452's trigger.

That being said, I might try out this Yodave. Where is good place to buy from?

Yodave kits are excellent value and to top it off, he's a very nice guy.

The Timney triggers are fine but in the end, no better results than the Yodave kit, which is put together in Canada.

The Timney is pretty sweet - have shot my buddies 457 with it and it is great. That being said, I replaced the spring in my MTR and it is really nice, another buddy bought a handful of them from a local industrial supply store for not very much. Folks also use Bic pen springs - I am sure the YoDave is just as good. I have the YoDave on my 452 and really like it.
