Easier to tube load while riding a horse, walking or running than trying to side load it would be my thought.

What a fantastic silhouette to that rifle.

They are threaded for a can if one is installed the tube probably can’t be removed, so side gate load. too bad we won’t have that problem in Canada!

Because people cried and complained about the lack of a side gate so Henry added them to everything. I've got two of these and it's a nice system you can top up rounds easily with the gate and if you need to unload in a hurry you can just pull the tube magazine out.
