I've only been here a couple months, but apparently firearms ownership is allowed, although obviously very tightly restricted. Some people do hunt deer, ducks and geese in Hokkaido and elsewhere. Haven't seen any milsurp stuff, though; that would involve not pretending the war never happened...

The same guy is also selling an Arisaka extractor for around $150!!!

Japanese are big military rifle scope buyers. Many of the Leatherwood ART Scopes are bought by them for big money.
