Your .300 wsm loads.

I am going to start reloading my Browning m-1000 eclipse .300 WSM and just wondering what recipes work for you guys and what kind of results you are getting? I am going to develop 1 load for both the range as well as a hunting load.
 
H4831 / 62-65 gr / 165 partitions / Magnum primers / 2830 - 3065 fp/s .No moose in two years but shoots under an inch and half @ 100 yards in stock sako fluted barrel rifle

I currently shoot Winchester 180gr super X and it grouped 3 shots in 11/16" at 100 yards. I am looking for a bullet and recipe for it that is better at long range as the winchesters aren't all that accurate at long range (800 yards).
 
I run a 165gr accubond or TSX infront of 67gr IMR 4831. The tsx is great for short range, but the accubond is better at anything over 250m. I have pushed the 200gr accubond just over 2900fps from a 24" barrel, but I don't have my notes handy on what powder and charge it was. (7828 I think..). I know that my groups were under 1" for 5 shots at 100, but that was from a thin barreled hunting rifle.

If long range is what you want I would look into the 190 or 185gr VLD from berger, or the 180gr accubond.

I had a look at the Berger VLD as a good hunting bullet. My one question is about how they are designed to fragment so much upon impact. Have you guys found pieces of bullet in your meat everywhere?
 
VLD's aren't really much of a hunting bullet. You are describing two uses, one for targets and one for hunting. If your rifle likes the Winchester Super-X, keep using that for your hunting and just work up a load for long range target shooting.

Should go for more or less for 172/178 gr vld or 168/180 gr ballistic tips and more slower powder like H1000 and 300 WM or go to precision shooting part of CGN
 
H or IMR 4350, CCI250's Win cases, and 165gr. Hornady Interbonds, or better yet 180gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips, 0.5MOA with the Interbonds, and 0.3MOA with the BT's
 
300 wsm is not very fussy in my opinion.
My best powders are MagPro with scirrocos or Interbonds (150 and 165 gr)
H414/W760 with the same bullets adding Nosler 168 silvertips.
H4831sc has worked well with any bullet.
H4350 works as well as (or nearly so) H4831.
I don't have my books at hand, but any of the slower powders I listed have worked pretty well with most bullets I've tried. I'm guessing that with the bullet/powder combo's I have on hand, I've tried about 25 or 30 different ones. About 75% would be acceptable as hunting rounds (1-1/2" or under at 100 yds).
Lymans book on reloading has a nice mix of bullet/powder combos for the 300-and other wsm's.
I'm shooting out of a Savage (accutrigger) with a Wildcat Thumbhole, floated and bedded, 24" bbl, 4 - 20 Nikon scope.
