Your advice on taking the cherry

My buddy & I are planning on a range trip tomorrow to break in our AR-15s.
His is a SP-01 Delta model bought from DelSelins, he never shot it.
Mine is a Stag from Arms East, bought in December 2006, never fired.

I need your advice here guys.
I have waited a long time for this day.
Is there a special ceremony, whatever??
Give me some guidance here....

Long story, Walter knows, but he won't tell, lol.

Bought 1,000 rounds of ammo from Wolverine 2 /12 years ago.
Didn't want to start banging off the AR like it was just another shooter.
I have shot a few with ex-militaries, who taught me some stuff.

Guess tomorrow is the big day then.
I will use the iron sights and a 1.25-4x scope. Plan to shoot 100 and 200 yards.
