Your favorite powder for .40S&W?

I've used a ton of Titegroup in my 40. Anywhere from 3.8-4.2 grains behind a 175 grain cast is a nice shooting round, probably in the 850-875 fps neighborhood. Longshot is a good choice for peppy loads either with 135 grain Nosler JHP's or with the 175's. According to my records, 6 grains of Longshot/175 cast was about 975 fps, 6.5 grains Longshot/175 cast was 1025 fps.

About 4 inch group at 25 yards when i take my time. I'm shooting a CZ 75B in 40S&W. Personaly i don't shoot it much now days. In fact it's up for sale in the EE . I shoot 9mm, & 44magnums every time at the range now days.:D
 
Is everyone shooting plated bullets in their 40's? I'm shooting Cactus Plains 180 cast round nose. Getting about the same accuracy as factory ammo. Not stellar, but not keeping them in the ring at 20 yards. 40% in the black. This is with an M&P40

Shooting mostly plated (Berry's and AIM) through my XD now, but my best groups are shot with those same CP 180gr cast bullets you use.

Been using 4.5gr of Bullseye for awhile now as every time I go looking for powder they are sold out of everything else.

Have you ever chrono'd the 180 cp rn with 4.5 gr bullseye? I should give it a try. I have some on hand.
 
I haven't chronied mine yet, with 5.0 grains of Accurate No. 2. I can't get a reading under the florescent lights at WRPA. I need to buy a couple of led puck lights and try again.

Shooting the same bullets, but not this year. I went to plated because the lead was too darn dirty, dies were getting wax spooge buildup and changing my COAL too much for my liking.

I like my reloading area clean.

Also the gun exhibits less fouling altogether, so it is a win win for me to shoot plated.
