My favorite is the 1911. Almost all of them. Especially the ones I can't afford, which is most of them. Every time I hold one it feels like home and puts a smile on my face.
I've tried other hand guns and nothing has taken the 1911s place in my heart. I wish I could have many so I could shoot the flavor of the day.

Being an Elmer Keith fan, my personal favorite is my 4" S&W model 29 with S&W factory ivory grips, dressed up with a recently acquired copy of Elmers holster by Milt Sparks, . A special order they kindly agreed to make up for me.

Your 29 is also my favorite! Not having the privilege of buying a 4" pistol though, my favorite that I own is my lowly Springfield Mil Spec. A few minor alterations to ensure it'll never be worth selling, and its my go to range pistol. An old Super .38 is also on the no sell list.

I should've added, the S&W factory ivory magna grips I now have on it, actually came off of an early model 27. They were offered to me at a local gun show years ago and having heard of but never having actually seen a set, I jumped at the opportunity! As they're actually S&W factory ivory, I've been offered more for them than the gun is worth. One of my better deals.
