I havn't tried the M&P but I've had an XD 40 for a couple of years now and love it. It shoots great and it fits me. The only repair ever done was the status indicator at the back for the cocked or no status. The parts were ordered an in my hands in 1 week. I tried to get a different barrell for mine and couldn't, the origional owner had it magna ported i wanted to try a std. barrell , I called Springfield and although there were very friendly and helpfull they send me manuals for the XD and 1911 they told me the couldnt sell me a barrell as they were producing these guns so fast and were so busy they needed the parts for the assembly line.
I have nothing against the glock it just fell uncomfortable in my hand and the XD fit.
