Smith & Wesson seems to be the industrial standard when revolvers are concerned. Is it worth the difference in monetary value that people are asking with comparable models from different makers? I usually keep what I buy for a very long time. Thanks for all the replies.

Yes, S&Ws are well worth the premium. Just compare a S&W to a Ruger or Taurus side by side and it will immediately be apparent which one is better made.Smith & Wesson seems to be the industrial standard when revolvers are concerned.
