Am trying to decide to buy used Diavari 3x9 36 C (MC) or go new Conquest 3X9 40. I know the older German made are superior to new ones but am looking at US made Diavari with MC coatings not the T coatings.. Anyone shed some light comparing Diavari C MC to new conquest..Price relatively the same..From all I read, the Diavari was replaced and is much the same as late model Diavari C ??

I like my 3-9 Diavari C more than my 3-9 Conquest. That's not to say that either is perfect. The Conquest needs medium rings to clear the oversized occular bell, and the adjustments of the Diavari felt like they had gravel in them. One adjustment on the Diavari is marked 1 cm at 100 meters and the other is marked 1/4 " at 100 yards even though they tested out at 1/4" when shooting around a 20 click box with a .375 H&H. Exactly 1/4" BTW. Both scopes have the Zeiss trait of the turrets turning backward to about every other scope in the world.
They are both decent scopes that suffer from a top manufacturer trying to cash in on a name earned by better scopes.
