Im thinking of getting something just for fun and i keep coming back to the Kel Tec PMR 30. Fair price looks like loads of fun ( even if it is only 10 rounds) and its not too expensive to shoot.

I just found the Hi Point JCP the other night. Not the lightest or best looking but you cant beat the price. $250 new!!!

any one have either one of these?

Keltec has some appeal with the 30 round mags, but at $600 here and 10 rounds its not so interesting. 22mag is about the same price as 9mm ammo too. Now...22lr is a lot of fun and cheap to shoot.

The few people I know who own the keltec love it, but I guess the real appeal would come in at the 30 round mag that is moot to us.

is it a 10 shot or a 30 pinned to 10?

i like the hi point for the price and because i have a CX4 in .40 with lots of ammo in stock.
the weight issue does not bother me, im not a serious hard core shooter. cheap and fun is my main goal.

zombie killing should the need arise is also a possibility. lol

I have one of the early models with the fluted barrel; I believe the newer ones have unfluted barrels. I love shooting mine but it is very noisy on the indoor ranges, even when compared to my 6.5" Taurus 22Mag revolver. It is very light, very thin, but the grip is large and comfortable. Just got another mag from Wolverine at a very reasonable price. Should have ordered a few more!

I bought mine because I like the calibre and design, so do not mind that price of ammo is much higher than 22LR. I also have a few rifles in 22WMR (lever, bolt and... Ruger 10/22!!!), so it could be a useful rifle + handgun combo (on the range).

I've actually heard pretty good things about the Hi Point, for the money. Apparently they are very reliable and quite accurate.

I've looked at those Kel Tec's a few times and they look like they'd be fun. I've read sometimes they have issues feeding from the mag but all those reports are from the States and realted to a full 30 round mag. Just can't get past the look of the Hi-Point, lol. otoh, would probably be an effective hammer in a pinch,
whatever way you go, enjoy
Trep

I wouldn't buy either. I would consider the Hi Point Carbine in pistol caliber as I've read good things about them (excellent function/reliability), except for their ugliness.
