My daughter has being shooting a Savage Rascal for over a year. The stock still fits her very well and its light enough for her to shoot off hand. This weekend we were plinking in the back yard, she asked to shoot my FV SR. I put it on the bench for her, she struggled to get into position with her arm over the stock, she fired a shot, then worked the bolt for another round, fired, cycled etc. She really enjoyed it, and she was able to do it with gloves on, and commented on how it was more fun

I want my kids to love shooting like I do. I want them to look ahead to upgrading thier rifles and I don't want her to get bored with the single shot and lose interest. I'm looking for advice on a small stocked bolt action repeater or maybe an aftermarket small youth stock for a MK2.

Thanks

The Rascal is fine in the summer. On cold days, however, it is miserable.

All things considered, I think that CZ's approach is the best one.

Shipped with a single shot adapter to teach ammo conservation, any 457/455 magazine will fit, from 5 to 25 rounds.

I hope that Savage will copy CZ, and make that (will accept magazines) change to the Rascal.
