Anybody know when/if Marstar will be getting anymore :

Yugoslav State Arsenal M-59/66AB1 Semi-Auto SKS
Yugo-59-66AB1.jpg

(Pic borrowed from the Marstar website)

in stock? I've been wanting my own with the grenade launcher and sight since I had the opportunity to shoot one a few months back. Very well built and one of the nicest versions of the SKS I've had the opportunity to handle.

Yugo owners, feel free to jump in and sing the praises of your rifles!:) Gotta' love those laminate stocks and the grenade attachment and sight adds that little "extra" something to the overall esthetic of the rifle. Have to admit I wasn't always an SKS man but they're definitely growing on me!

Just received what looks to be a beauty of a refurb 1954 Simonov from Walt at ArmsEast this AM. What a beauty! A beauty laminate stock that should clean up very well once all the excess oil is cleaned up. Bluing is immaculate as well. You'd say it was almost new looking at it.

Have to say that the quality and fit/finish of these Russians are heads and tails above the Chinese SKS rifles I used to own!

X MAN;
No we are not getting anymore....
We exported in excess of 300,000 of these to the US, all the ones we shipped were un issued, other firms picked up the used and abused ones we left there....

they are well built indeed but i dont think that is a laminated stock in the pic cos the zebra pattern looks wrong .

Darn it! John you should've saved more for us and the heck with the Americans! Guess I'll have to keep my eye out for a used on in the EE.:(

I don't know if they originally came with a laminate stock or not, I know that the one I shot was definitely a Yugo rifle and it had a really nice laminate stock with a pattern that was every bit as nice as current commercial laminate pattern hunting rifle stocks you see today.
