Yugo M48 Headspace issue?

Yes, try different brands of ammo. Try something commercial. I've heard it from several people that some brands don't chamber easily. Tomorrow I am going to shoot my new M48BO. I never shot it yet. I got a couple of boxes of the privi stuff and a couple of boxes of Winnie super-x 170 grain. Man, this will be an expensive gun to shoot. Next on my list of purchases is reloading equipment. I will have some brass to reload now. I will let you know who my M48BO shoots these different types of ammo.

awesome! let me know! My cousin does all his reloading for his rem700, and offered to reload my 8mm for me. Heard privi had great brass but first i need the damn things empty first! :p

Well - Most reloaders have a bullet puller, so your cousin can dis-assemble your loaded ammo and resize the brass to your chamber.
Most reloaders dislike NNY brass, for a variety of reasons. Suggest you pitch the brass, buy some Rem or Winchester, and reload the bits from the NNY, plus some custom loads. You'll quickly see how one can get the most out of a rifle by reloading.

I've had a M48BO for as long as I have been shooting. These items where nearly all built as units, although I had read rumours of using left over german parts on a few rifles. Numbering will confirm all of this.

Very odd indeed!

There are some scrubbed A and B models as well as parts bin guns - CGN member Benmacsh has one of these listed on the EE. Depending on which story you hear, they were done right at the start of the run while Zastava got all their ducks in a row for the new mfg'd BOs or when the run was winding down and they were cleaning up unused parts.

You might try casting the chamber...

Wellll i got a box of federal today, same problem. So its for sure a headspace issue.

Atleast i got a nice new barrel outa the deal! :p
