Yugo M59 SKS

Not all Russian SKS's are worth the same. With the Yugo M59, like with Russian SKS's, it comes down to their relative rarity.

Well Marstar has the Yugo m59 service rifle in as-new condition for 429.99. I already have 2 Russian hardwood stock as-new (all matching non-refurb) from westrifle for 240 dollars. Is the Yugo that much better in practical terms?

Why do you want more SKS's ??

You'll be dead 2 times before your investment pays off if you think they will someday worth a lot of money.

Funny, the Yugos have doubled in price in the last few years. So have the 49 Tulas.

To the OP, if you just want a shooter be aware the Yugos are not chrome lined. You may not even notice much of a difference in shooting them. If you are looking for something different that may be harder to get very soon then a Yugo might be of interest to you. Sounds like Marstar doesn't believe any more will be coming in.

The price you pay for the Yugo is its rarity factor. Some individuals believe the quality to be superior to the Russian, but I haven't experienced anything of the such. I don't have one in my collection, but it would be nice to have.

I had a 59/66 from the Marstar importation in 2003... and I believe that they had a better fit and finnish then Russian ones on the market today... Because it does not have a chrome lined barrel... it should shoot better..... I kept mine unfired and sold it 2 years ago.

I canot speak for the m59... if it wasn't the price that it is.. I would own one

Do not take the risk: two years ago was not easy to sell my laminated M44 in exellent condition for 180$, today?: will go for 280-300$

I wouldn't pay marstar prices for one, they're just not worth it to me - unless you're a collector & must have one for a safe queen.
I honestly don't think they're worth more then a chinese military sks. Maybe $50 more, not $200.

I've owned 2 yugos, and a factory 306(iirc) chinese military sks.
Sold them because the vz58 is a simpler(better?) design, and I can't afford to collect rifles I don't intend to shoot.
