Looking for a scope mount for a yugo mauser purchased from marstar. Not looking to drill and tap. Want one that will fit where the rear sight is. Found several online from the states but that could be a hassle. Anyone know where I can get one in Canada?

Thanks

Just to clarify - you're looking for a no gunsmithing mount for a yugoslavian mauser?

Because there're rather nicely made yugoslavian mounts made for mausers too :p

I'm pretty sure you can get one from the states.Btw how's the fit and finish of your rifleI have see tru mounts on mine but want another one with zrack mounts

...............or you could just get an original Zrak high turret mount and Zrak 6x32 scope for it................just like mine, and have yourself a mega cool Serbian Sandman..........anyone else out there have the same setup?

I looked into this a couple times - I couldn't justify spending x3 what any of my Yugos cost me. The last 6x32 I chased sold for >$1000.00.

..........I hear ya on that one DeltaSilver...............but I was pretty determined to have a Serbian sniper clone in my collection of Mausers. The price was crazy for original Zrak, and I ended up getting a dirty beating from the wife with a frying pan for it...........but man o man...........that is one sweet rifle to shoot, worth every penny! I am really liking how its cammed for the 175g sniper round those angry little yugoslavian guys used.......works very well with factory 175g Igmond ammo. And actually, the reticle on that scope I am really falling in love with.........really really handy setup with the range finder. And its not too often you see something like that show up at the range, so for that alone, its worth the extra coin. I'd include a couple pics..................but not sure how to post them on here?

Well here goes nothin! Lets see if this posty pictures thing works. Are you sure you still want a scout mount on your yugo? I dunno about you, but the Serbian Sandman just looks damn ###y! All I need is a historically correct David Hasslehoff sticker on the buttstock, and she would be good to go!

did the photos work? first time try at this here............

I imported a rear sight scout scope mount for one of my Mausers from Brownell without an issue. Not a Yugo but an Israeli.

It works but the scope is a bit high. Haven't found a solution to that yet.

The mount was cheap too and Brownells is fast and good to deal with.
Came with rings that I didn't use because I mounted a 30mm tube scope on it.

lol.......she has worked her way to all time favorite in my collection. shoots an inch @100 with Igmond 170g...........can't wait to try out my handloads on her. Been taking her out coyote hunting all summer, and she's going to be my deer rifle this fall. I have two K98's (a 1944 BNZ 4 and a 1945 SWP45), but this Yugo B0 has really taken the cake!

The gunsmithing was done by Bits of Pieces, and he went to great lengths to make it as historically accurate as possible to look as she would of, had she seen service in the civil war in the 90's. The rear mount was machined down to fit around the stripper clip guide to make it look very natural and proper (the rear mount came from Zrak too long, perhaps is was made for the Zstava sporter rifles?). And the bolt handle was bent ever so slightly to clear the scope. Lots of other smiths that I talked to, wanted simply to chop the rear mount up and "make it fit", but Bits of Pieces was the only guy who knew this particular set up from previous experience, and made the right call to keep it historically accurate and pretty.
The optics themselves get a huge two thumbs up for quality! Maybe not quite as bright as a Leupold............but a far cry better than most stuff, and much better than I was expecting, especially out of a 32mm objective. Besides, just being able to experience the type of equipment in use at that time, is way more neat than a shiny commercial scope anyday!
Anyone else with one of these out there? I am really curious! Did lots of asking around while building this project, but never really heard back if anyone else has one like it?
And any luck with that scout mount bud? I have seen lots on Ebay.......not sure if it would be a pain to get them up here? What kind of scout scope were you thinking of putting on there? Am curious to hear how it turns out!
How about a funky red dot, with a side folding stock.........make it all tacticool!:stirthepot2: .........one of those awesome 20 round trench mags for it, and a desert recon paint job! :nest:

You have a PM.

beautiful i have my yugo m48bo set up the same as yours with zrak scope and mounts it really is a beautiful rifle. You mentioned you had the bolt bent slightly i also need to have this done as it bearly clears the rear end of the scope do you have any sugestions as to how or where to have this done

Gordon,
Barry Jensen, over at Bits of Pieces in Delta, B.C. was the only smith in the whole country it seemed that I talked to (and I talked to just about everyone, spent nearly a month making phone calls) that knew about that war, that rifle, and that scope inside and out. He came very highly recommended by Wolfgang over at Wolverine, apparently its where they also send ALL of their gunsmithing that they can't do themselves. Really great guy, and took a lot of time discussing the project to ensure we were both happy with it, and that we both had the same vision of historical accuracy, and elegance in mind. It took 2 months to get it back, as he is quite busy, but worth the wait! If you want more photos, I can take some, if you want to see the quality of his work for yourself, the mounts, bolt, ect. Tell him that I sent you, and he will treat you right! As I mentioned before, the rear base was about a quarter inch too long (because of the stripper clip quide and saddle), and was interfering with the bolt being able to open. Every other smith was more than happy to hack and slash to make 'er fit, really had no idea of what they were going to do exactly........but said they would just figure it out as they went......................ya, no...............I had only been on the phone with Barry for a few mins, and he knew exactly what the problem was, and how to fix it, and fix it the proper way. Lesson learned, when you need work on your mauser, send it to the little old german guy from the old country.............not just some bubba! LoL. You got any photos of yours gordon? Lets see 'em!!

i will take a couple and post them tomorrow, i also hade the same problem with the rear mount base not fitting around the charger bridge i contacted zrak and they assured that it was the right base and that it would machined to make it fit i wasent verry happy about this as i was planing to drill and tap it myself .I called up a local gunsmith and asked if he would do it he said yes,i told him what i needed done ,he sugested that i remove the rifle from the stock and mail it to him ,i was verry hesitant to do this but it turned out real nice in the end ,i still think i need the bolt bent just a little more as it comes real close to the scope when the bolt is fully opened .You will be able to see what i am talking about when i post the pictures
