I looked at spotting scopes for days on the internet. What to buy,...what to spend.
I would use it at the range mostly. I just needed a scope that was able to see bullet holes at 100 & 200 yards.
Thats a LOT of walking for my old hips.
I hated Waiting at the firing line for every one to finish shooting before I could go see my targets. All I have to do is look through the spotting scope now.
So how is the yukon 20-60x80 scope ? Canadian Tire $179.00
well its ugly. flat green plastic housing.
Feels pretty light. The front lens cap wont stay in place.
Has a cheap feel to it. The head does not swivel.
the Tripod seems sturdy enough. when you tighten the handle, the front of the scope doesnt droop.
The Zoom Adjuster knobs seems decent with the proper amount of resistance.
The Focus Knob has a lighter cheaper feel when turning.
I set my Large used target board out at 100 yards and you could easily see the bullet holes.
The eye relief was very decent. It zoomed in nice and clear.
I set my target board out at 200 yards. still no issue seeing the bullet holes. Nice clear view.
so I went out to 318 yards. Problem ! the target board I was using was blue and it was impossible to see the holes.
I quickly painted the board bright White, then took a black pen and made fake bullet holes. I also made sure the target was getting direct sun light this time.
well it worked, I could see them. not real good, but good enough. Eye relief and picture was good and clear.
I am really surprised. Its a great working cheaply made scope. There are WAY better scopes on the market, but for the price, and what I'm using it for,.. I give it a thumbs UP.
