Hi there, wanted to know if anyone has had any personal experience with these handguards.

Zahal offers a few different versions (Alpha HG, Rail System, Alum Rail System).

I wanted to know the ease of install, the fit, are they practicle for field stripping, etc. Just to know your overall experience with them (pros and cons).

Thanks in advance.

I've got the Alpha. It's very nicely made but fits SUPER tight on my CZ858. Particularly the lower handguard. The upper handguard is perfect. Rock solid for optics but can be removed easily enough for cleaning. Install was very straight forward. I don't think Zahal carries it any more though. You'd have to go to ebay, which is where I got mine from. Shipping was insanely fast.

I got the Alpha rail, and it is excellent. Light and easy to remove. It is still made, to my knowledge, because I got mine a few months ago. Do not go with the Aluminum one (the one where the top rail extends over the gas block) because it's so ******* heavy and it does not retain zero when you remove it to clean.

It's worth it. But if I had to do it over, I'd take a look at the NEA top rail because it doesn't require a bottom rail to mount it on, and I haven't tried to run the Alpha Rail as just a top one. The bottom rail is unnecessary in a lot of ways. Whatever, do what you want, the Alpha looks AWESOME and is really handy and light, but I bet there's a way to emulate it's performance in an even lighter package.
