I am getting one of these from a collector friend who never tried or shot it, just laying there on a pile collecting dust. Year of production unknown for now.
My paperwork for "lease agreement" is in process with authority.
Where shall I look for boxed amo these days?
Have an RPAL but no pb handguns in a recent decade, also will be using it for paper punching in my gunclub over the winter.

I am looking the online pictures, not seeing other option but a side mount only for a red dot.
Unfortunately my closest sharp focus is about 1 M, this was a reason I had no handguns.
Looks like I have a new project in front of me. I have couple low profile red dots not using currently, only to figure the rigging.

Looking online I saw someone use a 1911 Arrendondo frame mount for a red dot or you can see if someone like Black Box Customs can mill the slide for a dot.

Keep in mind that both of these will require permanent modifications of the M57 and the “lease holder” of the M57 will allow permanent alterations to the pistol.

That, and they are spicy, I would be concerned about damaging it from the recoil.

I had a Serbian M57 bought brand new, beautifully finished, I liked the longer grip and the one shot larger capacity mag compared to other "Tokarev" pattern pistols, but mine was not super accurate, and I also could not use it for PPC or IDPA. I sent mine down the road.
