Howdy,
we have some ex-military unissued M57 pistols around, but we also have the commercial brand new M57s here and there. Anybody knows which one would be better, quality wise? Thank You.

I have no direct knowledge on that particular gun, but typically, commercial renderings of military firearms are more finely finished. I would expect that the metallurgy of both, would be the same. So far as value goes - unless the military version you have, has some unusual provenance attached to it and assuming the commercial one is actually, better finished - I would think that the comercial one would be worth a bit more $

Thank you. I think that your assessment is spot on. Zastava is using a lot of CNC machining these days, so probably the pistol may be a bit smoother too with better tolerances.

Would the newly manufactured ones have the external frame safety?

Mine did not. It was lots of fun, big bang, cloud of fire and recoil!!! Did not shoot it well though; never got on to it. Finely made pistol though!
