Good day everyone, I just bought Leupold STD bases(50026) and rings for my Zastava M70 rifle. I selected this particular set as per Leupold chart.
It appears that screws on the the back of receiver are too long . Any ideas how to resolve this issue.

#50026 (matte) is the correct set of standard bases according to the Leupold application chart. I have #50027 (reversible front base) on a number of my LKM70 rifles. No issues with rear base screws being too long. Can't remember if the front and rear base screws are different lengths. If so maybe you have these mixed up?

My rifle is also LKM70, same as yours. The screws from this package appearsto have same lenght. I wil check them out again to ensure I didn't mixed them up.

Typically it is gunsmith's job to install this type of bases. Usually action rings may require some attention, bases as well and as you discovered screws for sure.
Shimming may be required or removal of some metal for proper installation. Find the gunsmith who knows.

Occasionally the rear base screws need to be filed/ground down a bit if they extend into the bolt guide. Put them in, see how many threads need to be removed, and remove them.

As I recall there are 3 different length screws. The 2 short ones for the front base An intermediate one for the front of the rear base and a longer one for the rear of the rear base. I never had to shorten any of mine.

Like Hitzy said. I've seen this dozens of times with mauser actions.
