Hi guys, I used to own a pair of 99$ Norinco 213 that I eventually sold. I liked the caliber, the general size and shape of the gun save for the grip lenght. The finish was obviously rough and they jammed all the time, hence why I let them go with a fair warning to the buyer. I'm considering a few options to get back in the handgun world and the Zastava seems to offer some decent upgrades like an extended grip with increased capacity and a better general finish over the surplus stuff. Can anyone with hands on experience chime in and offer their perspective on these? The other pistols I'm considering are at least 200$ more and I'm wondering if I couldn't swing that towards ammo...

Got one, great platform, slightly longer than a TT33, better grip in hands, great quality assemblage very tight.

So far working flawless, 500 ishh rounds.

I would buy it again anytime, hey it´s a $235 pistol, why ask ? Just buy it thats it !

Tazik, good point, but after the 213 experience I had, I wouldn't mind spending a bit more to be problem free. That's why I am doing my homework. You can't resale a pistol with a cracked slide. ;)

The cracked slide on mine appeared at about 2K rounds, just out of the warranty period.
Part of the problem is that the Zastava slide stop cut-out is cut right through the slide,
The Norinco TT is a rebated cut at the same point.

Yeah very good point, so the M70A could benefit from light reload 9mm, well, I think...

Only thing with mine was the mag release of a tad to long and would not let the mags drop unless I pushed the button in super far, far more then normal. A bit of filing and it was good to go.

The Zastava M70A is the kind of pistol that you will be happy with if you don't mind tinkering on it.
I solved my difficult to drop mag problem this way, with an oversized button!

Are slides interchangeable for Norincos' 9 mm and 7.62 mm? Will both of them fit Zastava M70A?

I have one that is still unfired but, you can feel the quality, i will order the Zastava M57 in 7,62X25 to have the pair... JP.

I can't say that the 9mm & 7.62mm slides will interchange, but the 9mm Zastava & 9mm Norinco will.
The Zastava uses a proprietary firing pin system, the Norinco uses standard TT FP, spring & retaining pin.

I always liked that grip, but I was seriously hoping that the Zastava would of been a solid improvement over the old war horse. I'm glad you guys are chiming in as I don't have the time or patience to tinker much, so I'm second guessing if that pistol is the right move for me now. That's a positive thing, as I always have a tendency to make impulse purchases. ;)
