Hey all,
im looking at picking one of these up in .17 hmr but dont know much about them.
Does anyone have one or have any experience with the brand?
i had an older Stevens in .17 but sold it a while ago and remembered and found some ammo stored away i forgot about and want to get out for some fluffy bunnies this weekend hopefully.

my old one had weak ejector and extractor springs so extraction and ejections was not reliable with certain ammo. The cheaper stuff incidentally was more reliable than CCI or Hornadys. Switched to CZ 455 lux in 17hmr and love it. Super accurate and reliable every time. And beautiful to boot. I would rather get something that has proven reliability rather than experiment with things that may (or may not) give you trouble. Mags are also noted for being finicky. Some filing and re-profiling of feed lips may be necessary.

Ultimately I went through many CZ 452 and 455 rifles, still own several (mostly Lux as I love this platform) and never had any issue with any of them for whatever reason. Little stiff bolts at the beginning but smoothed out with few hundred rounds. Bolt operation over time gets so smooth, you can operate it with your index finger without taking the rifle off your shoulder if shooting off hand. I got a single shot adapter for benchrest. I realize this is about Zastava but I don't miss my old Zastava at all. Only thought about it when I read your post.

thanks Jabol,
definitely food for thought.
ive definitely been reading up about them but first hand knowledge and experience is always more helpful to me
