Zastava scope mount issue

I have a couple of left hand Zastava Mausers (M70) in .375 H&H and .458 Win Mag that I’m having a bit of a time mounting scopes on.

For optics I have purchased a couple of Leupold VX-2 Canadian Editions in 2-7x33mm. I was hoping to go with the Talley bases and detachable rings so that I could remove the scope if the particular hunting situation I was in warranted the use of the open sights.

The issue I have is that the optics I have selected are evidently not long enough to sit in the scope rings. A picatinny style base would fix this, but I can’t find any on the market for this rifle at least in a left hand model.

Is anyone aware of such a thing or am I looking at having them custom made? Do QD offset rings exist?

I use leupold standard bases. get the ones for the FN mauser. If you use the standard ones you can get the leupold rings with the front extension' or you can get you can get the standard fn bases with the reversible front base and that will put the front ring a little farther to the rear. I have the LH zastava with a 2 1/2-8 vx3 and have had no problem mounting it.

Nice shooting rifles but I had to alter the stock somewhat.

Sbound,

dont know if the QR system will work on those calibers but that may be your solution ...

i can check tomorrow if with steel bases 46 45 and grand slam quick detach rings they fit on my LH 458 ....
