Hi Guys, wanted to ask your thought on the new Zeiss Conquest V4 6x24x50 scope with ballistic turrets. is it worth the money and what are your thoughts on how it works for long range shooting, how does it compare to other scopes like Nightforce etc

Appreciate your feeback

Thanks in advance

Arif

I've got one and I like it but I don't have a Nightforce so I can't make the comparison you are asking for.

Mine is mounted on a Fierce Carbon Edge 6.5 PRC.

If I was to do it again I might go for the 4-16x44 instead and save a couple of ounces and a little bulk as I only shoot this combo out 1000 yards and I mostly use it as a hunting rifle.

I've also been told the Nightforce and V4 Zeiss come out of the same factory in Japan but I'm not sure if this is true or not.

cheers :)

What I know is Zeiss hired a cpl of Nightforce techs so the Conquest line is/was redesigned/designed by the new crew to Zeiss, they are awesome scopes, the 4-16x44 is my go to hunting scope/long range shooting scope, I have one one on my 280AI, 300 PRC and soon on my 7mm PRC
The glass is excellent, low light performance is as good as it gets, the zero stop MOA dial is tough as nails, from a 100 yard zero mounted in Talley’s rings it has 52 MOA of adjustment up, weighs 22oz, imho it’s the best scope for the money.
I prefer the z-plex reticle for hunting.

My experience between the V4 4-16 to the SHV 4-14 was pretty definitely skewed towards the Zeiss. But the SHV scopes aren't exactly the greatest, as I found out. That one went back, the Zeiss sits on a Mark V in .340 Wby.

Zeiss V4 4-16 X 44 is a good optic, but I find the new Leica 3-18 X 44 just a bit better overall.

I think optical clarity between brands will vary with the users eye....what looks to be better to one may not look to be better to another.

I'm planning to try the new Amplus 6 on a Sako Finnlight shortly here. I've only heard great reviews so far.

I really like mine. The FOV is great, on 3X I can see my barrel, good feature packed optic with excellent glass. Eastmans hunting journals on youtube did a nice review on it.

I have a nightforce nx8 4-32, and Zeiss conquest v4 6-24.
They are both good for what it does. But glass quality wise NF is noticeably better
Size wise conquest v4 is less beefy.

I prefer use NF on rimfire out to 200 yards just because it’s FFP.
Conquest v4 is SFP only.

NF is about 1k more expensive than Conquedt V4.
If they 1K is not a factor and if a little bit beefy feeling is no concern, go with NF.

What are you using this scope for? Target, hunting, both?
For something only used for long range target/steel shooting, you're better served with FFP. Lots of good, proven options in the $1500-2200 range.
For long range hunting the Zeiss is a good option. 6x on the low end may be a bit high for some. That's why I went with the 4-16, better for close range hunting and 16x is still fine for 800y+ steel practice.

i will be using it primarily for long range hunting, mounting it on my Sauer 90 7MM Magnum. i have a Nightforce NXS 5.5x22.56 mounted on my Sauer SSG 3000 for long range target shooting

Another scope that to my eyes is as good or better than my Zeiss V4 or Leica Amplus 6 is my Bushnell Elite 4.5-18x44 LRTSi.

If you can find one have a look, it may surprise you! :)
