I bought a new zeiss 3x15x42 from a great guy on here. I mounted it up and hit the range. I go to bore sight it and the windage turret is seized! Its got the z600 reticle in it. The turret pulls out so you can reset it to zero but when its pushed in it doesn't move. Anybody else have this happen! I guess I will have to send it back to zeiss to see whats up

The only issue that I have had is with the target turrets, and it was my issue not the scope. The target turrets have stops built into them, and you need to remove the screw, then the turret, and lift and turn the follower under it, so that the stop is opposite the built in limiter. And with the target turrets, you pull the turret out to adjust the point of impact. You loosen the screw and pull it out further yet to set the zero.

wish you the best with Zeiss Canada aka gentech.

I bought two of these and one works great. Sounds like I am in for a wait to get this fixed!! Whenever I buy a used scope I always give the turrets a spin to see how they feel. Don't expect a seized turret on a new one fresh out of the plastic!

It shouldn't happen with a new scope, but then again I had two Leupolds that took both hands, and a lot of effort to turn the magnification adjustment ring, so the QC is lacking with more than one company.

My recent experience with Zeiss/Gentec was great. Turnaround time could improve a bit but it was a trouble-free experience.

yes delays ... remember they have no lab in Canada and 3 months to get a new one instead of a fixed one is a long delay especially at the high price asked.

Just got off the phone with Zeiss. They said send it in. I would feel real bad if I was a "one gun" guy and this was a package I just bought as my only rig. I put this on my 257 weebee ultralight and don't need it till august goat/sheep but this is the time of year I do all my load development. I wanted to get lots of time in with it to dial in the Z600 reticle but I guess that will have to wait. I guess my spring grizz gun will get a workout for awhile! I want to replace the 2.5x8 lupy on my 325 with a zeiss 2x10 Z600 but now I am nervous to buy another one.

I guess that every manufacturer has a defective product now and then, but I currently own six HD-5 scopes, and I have owned five Conquests, and I haven't had an issue with any of them.

I don't hold it against zeiss. I bought two matchin zeiss scopes and the other is awesome. I got my 257 accumark dialed out to 500 yards with the z600 reticle. I didn't have 600 yards to shoot but right now I am within 1.5" of point of aim from 100-500 yards using maximum power on my scope.
