Alright, I've been going back and forth on this, and I think it's time to ask for help.
I'm deciding on a scope for my new .223 gopher whacker. I'm going to go with a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50, but I can't decide on which reticle.
On the one hand, I'm thinking the Rapid-Z Varmint, because that's what it was designed for.
On the OTHER hand, I'm thinking the Rapid-Z 1000, because it's got many more marks and I'm going to have to figure out poi for various ranges anyways, regardless of the ballistics they "say" it's designed for.
I'm used to looking through complicated reticles, so the extra "stuff" doesn't bother me at all, so I think the 1000 looks more useful, especially because I don't plan to do a lot of clicking of turrets.
Any thoughts?
