Anyone else have a zeiss v4 fail? Mine lost zero today after owning it for 1 month putting about 50 rounds downrange with it(braked 270 win). I only adjusted the elevation turret to sight in,not spinning it up and down every range trip. It shifted 6" vertically in one shot today( checked with other ammo to verify).
From what I had heard I thought these scopes were pretty solid but maybe I will stick to the razor LHT?
Any other v4 problems out there? I really wanted to love this scope ( 4-16x44 #20 duplex non- illuminated)

I've got a V4 6-24x50 MOA-illum, its been a very good scope but I now wished I had bought a 1 FFP Mil-rad scope.

Did you purchase it new from a gun store/distributor ?

Was it purchased at a gun show/second hand ?

Lots of counterfeits out there, just saying, I hope this isn't the case

Sounds like maybe the reticule assembly is held against the lead screw by a spring and the assembly or the spring somehow got jammed until the vibration jarred it loose. Rifle is tight in the stock?

Well, I sent the scope back to gentec. They are sending me a replacement, there was no mention of what was wrong. I must say, there warranty process was pretty good( communication etc)
Anyone else know of these scopes not holding zero? I sure see alot of these for sale, used and new in box. I usually do a 1 week or so backpacking hunt a year and need an optic I can trust.

Do you have faith in the replacement scope given the history of the first one?
If not, replace it with a Leupold.

Nutt'in werser than hunt'in wid wee faith in yer mechanical eye bawlzs.

I'd have far less faith in a Leupold holding zero than a Zeiss. I've only had 2 scopes lose zero, a 20 year old Tasco and a Leupold VX1. And the VX1 spent 98% of its life on a 17 HMR before a 308 scrambled its brains.
My v4 4-16 has held zero with 300rds of lightweight 7 rem mag recoil. Tracks like a champ, no issues of any form.

Edit: that Tasco was over 30 years old, not 20. And it spent 2 decades on a truck/combine gun before it finally gave up. The VX1 only saw gopher patch and range time and still #### the bed.

You know VHS that the Leupold VXI are their entry level scopes...........right?
And it is 100% warrantable.
Not like the entry levels of t'uthers.
