Hey everyone,

Looking to compare experiences with others regarding wear and tear on these pistols. Seems like the surface finish, particularly on the barrel, seems to wearing off very quickly.

I have put about 1000 rounds through it at this point, and while it doesn't impact the function of the pistol, it is surprising that a "premium" product would have a finish that rubs off so easily.

Is this normal? Any other users experience the same wear?

Thanks.

Comparison to Shadow 2 (~15000 rounds) and SFP9 barrels (~3000 rounds).

As a side note, I got to say the finish on the Shadow really holds up over time.

I have about 2K rounds thru my OZ9 and nothing like that. I Mine has the bronze barrel finish and I was expecting the finish to start to wear, but nothing so far. Stop cleaning it, you're wearing off the finish ;)

corrosive cleaning?

Not unless my batch of Ballistol is corrosive.

Thanks for the photos Nitroxace.

No problem Skiman. Just as an FYI I use Gunzilla CLP to clean and Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil as a lube. I would give Black Box Customs a call and speak to Devon. He is great to deal with and they are the Zev warranty repair for Canada. Keep us posted.

Man , I wouldn’t be happy with that . Are those barrels blued ....looks like it . Have you any recourse at this point for a replacement barrel ?

I second that , Devon and Blackbox are excellent .

Brutal, that looks like paint flaking off. If that's bluing (It looks like it isn't?), it's by far the worse bluing I've ever seen. I'd be pissed for sure.

My 11 year old Glock 21SF barrel looks unused, as in not even marked - after thousands....I think you may have a serious fitment issue there....for the amount of cash you laid out....get some satisfaction for sure...
