ziess conquest scope tube size question

Hey all question i just bought ziess conquest off a good fella here. Any ways I went to mount it on my one piece tally rings and there slightly small. Top and bottom halves have a paper then air gap. Do they like a certain brand ring?

My Conquest mounted up nicely using Leupold QD rings. I couldn't say if this was a fluke or whether the scopes have a preference for these rings.

Hi Moose, I had it in Leupold QD 1" rings and Burris Signature Zee 1" rings with the inserts and it fit nicely. I had also mounted the same scope on a buddy's rifle with a set of Talley Lightweight Aluminum 1" Scopemounts and it also fit perfectly. Any good quality 1" rings will do the job.

It's a standard 1" tube.

That is normal with Talley Ultralights. Until I lap them, there is always a slight gap between the scope tube, and the bottom ring half.

Sounds like the solution is lapping, I'll give it a try
