Can our dealers/importers see if we can have any of these in Canada:
www.zimmermanarms.com ???????

Thank you :)

In my understanding, this is a gun with a
proprietary monolytic receiver/frame that has 10/22 internals
(bolt, trigger group, mag, recoil-spring / rod / charging handle assembly).

There are nicer kits out there than this one.
Check out Fabsports for the 556 model. Its also Canadian made.I own the Nordic kit but cant get them here anymore:(

Even if its not a kit its still a dressed up 10/22?
Would it not be cheaper to get a kit and 10/22 and do it yourself.

only thing i really like about this over say my archangel 10/22 is the long continous top rail, but if the price is way out there id still put my own together like i did.

I would have to seriously consider this as an option, if it was say under $400 with the barrel and everything.......

If I still had to buy a 10/22 and this "housing/reciever" so I could put it all together it would have to be under $200 for me to say "I want one"......

That said I like it and I would buy one if they were available "up here"....

The more I look at it the more I like it!

Cheers!

**Edit**

I just re-looked at the dealer web site...... from $477 US to $497US depending on the length you want..... and you need a 10/22 for the bolt & trigger group as well...... Not such a bargain IMO.... Very cool idea tho..... too bad about the price..... They really do talk up that reciever.....

I'm sorry I have to ask this, but where did you guys get the idea that you
have to buy a separate 10/22 or 10/22 parts or whatever
in order to complete this????

In my understanding, this is not a kit, but a complete gun.
On their website, I found:
Zimmerman Arms will be offering complete rifles fall 2009.

Lector,
Yes the full rifles will be available, but these prices are just for the receiver kit. However, I must admit they do look nice. Way better than Archangel, which is all plastic. I wonder how much the complete rifles will cost.

Considering there is a market for receivers, if the one designed into the rifle chassis was good, it would make sense. A new 10/22 is what around $250, a heavy barrel starts at around $200 and an Evolution stock is around $300, so right off the bat you are $750 into it.

Interesting rifle. Odd that they chose to go with a proprietary pistol grip instead of allowing the use of AR grips.

It would be interesting to see the internal machining of the unit and how it goes together....for those playing with 10/22 based bullpups (legal of course) this design has some potential...the trigger group pin holes are an issue...I wonder if it comes in two pieces, an upper and a lower?

If they are available up here I'll buy one with a short barrel. From the description it sounds like it is very easy to take apart, thats a big plus, I have a 10/22 with the EVO stock and there's alot of screws to unscrew to take it apart for cleaning, I might sell the EVO and get this one.
Every new firearm we can get up here is a good thing, somebody bring it and we will buy it.
