ZKK 600 question?

A few years ago I got a Brno ZKK 600 rifle on a trade in 30-06. I've always wanted a quarter -bore 25-06. I can get a Richard's stock and put on a Ted Gallard varmite weight barrel. I feel the positive features are the proven Mauser action in all steel. I like the set trigger and the recoil lug being part of the reciever. Making a semi-custom rifle on this action would cost about the same as a Savage low profile in 25-06 . Am I trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear or is this 600 Brno action a quality action to do a build on?I'd appreciate advise as there is a wealth of expertise on this forum. Thanks! Don
 
There is nothing wrong with the ZKK 600 action, only the finish is a little coarse. Have the action trued, bedded, and the barrel free floated. It should be a tack driver. Go for it and post pics when you are done.
