I have a BRNO ZKK 601 in 223 and it only ejects properly when the bolt is worked very vigorously. When worked what I consider normally the empty just spins around and lands in the breech backwards. This is the only centerfire I have with a blade type ejector, and while it looks normal to me I don't have enough experience with them to know if something is out of wack. Any ideas??

Sounds right. Pull it slow and pick out the brass or when needing a second shot work it fast and watch it fly. It's the way it should be

Sometimes - with a shell that is too small or maybe too large for the action, I have found that the brass may hit the lower right corner of the upper rear receiver opening.

If that corner of the receiver is sharp, (like some BRNOs are), I have seen the shell hit that corner and bounce back into the opening. You can see slight marks on the brass if that is the case.

Or else slowly work the action and watch carfully to see if the empty is hitting anything on its exit. I sometimes blacked the brass to see if it strikes anything.

I have cured a couple with a slight filing of that corner of the receiver. It looked like the slight sharp edge caused it to catch the brass and cause the bounce back.
