So, I'm directing a play, and we rented a blank-firing revolver to he run that just isn't reliable, so I found these Zoraki blank pistols at Blue Line, that are not only non-prohibited, but non-restricted as well. I ordered one, though why the producer couldn't have just rented a gun that *works* is beyond me...

I can't figure out why I didn't even need a PAL for one, unless it's because they aren't replicas of an actual pistol model.

Anyone know if that might be why?

Did you get the full auto - that would be great I can just see the script rewrite: from "shoots her twice" to "unleashes three five round bursts". Back on topic, they aren't replicas of any specific firearm (so they're good on that one) and they aren't firearms (so they're good there too)

Yeah, that's what I figured. I think that blank firing replicas of real weapons are out-and-out prohibs, are't they?

Interesting note: I found the company's website and (at least in on the English version) the don't mention that the guns aren't actually real guns.

No, not the full auto. I ordered the 914 with the titanium finish, though I'm thinking it should have been the black, just because I don't know if these things are any good, and I'm afraid of the finish peeling by the second week of the run. LOL!

Yeah, it's only going to be discharged in the theatre, where the non-working blank gun would have been. I don't intend to play guns with it or anything like that :D

They are considered non guns, and you should check with the local bylaws or RCMP as to where you can discharge it!

I bought the full-auto SMG and the pistol. I took the full-auto to Sharon to try, but the OPP were there practicing on one of the ranges. I'm thinking, people are just going to get excited if they hear full-auto fire. In addition, civilians are prohibited from using full-auto firearms at the range. Maybe I'll take it to Target Sports (indoors) and ask management if its ok to fire it there. As it sits, I don't really have a practical place where I can shoot them for fun.

It sure would be fun to mess with the RO at Silverdale where rapid fire is restricted! LOL! j/k.

I understand that but I still don't think it is legal. There is a small chance you could get in trouble/arrested.

Excuse me officer..........I'd like to know where its ok to shoot my full-auto blank gun? :nest: LOL!

I wasn't talking about a full auto, I was referring to the semi roadkill intends to use indoors.

Yeah, part of me's been wondering about that. I'll check with the safety officer at the theatre. He'll likely know. I hope that there won't be any problems, because the blank gun we were using mis-fired again during our dress rehearsal. I mentioned it to him, and he didn't seem concerned, but better safe than sorry, right?

Awww man that would have been pee my pants funny to hear the outcome IF you did fire it while they were there. :D

Well, it arrived too late for the play, so now I've got this damned useless blank gun. The good news is that, with the Fiocchi blanks, it makes a very convincing bang.

I have other plays coming down the pipe, some of which call for a handgun, so I guess I didn't totally waste my money...

Anyone know if there's a holster that'll fit the 914? I know there's nothing made specifically for it, but maybe there's something that'd be close enough for stage/film use.

An Uncle Mike's "Side Kick" size No. 1 fits well. The are black nylon and are suitable for the LEO look. Don't know about leather or civilian style holsters.

They are legal, just cap guns, replica or not. I would be happy to provide the chart sent to me by the BC CFO regarding blank guns legality. Just shoot me an email.

That's just answered a question for me because they used one of those Zoraki 925s in an episode of Smallville and I was wondering what the hell it was.

BTW, 9mm PAK ammo imx is a very mixed bag, buy a make that you've heard of. Fiocchi made it at one point, not sure if they still do. Most of it is pretty grim in the QC dept., only use Fiocchi if you can get your hands on it.
