Well i finally got the GSG 10/22 drum [2nd to last on the shelf] and took it out the other day and HOLY CRAP so much fun. Thanks you hi cal
Slight review-
Overall build quality seems very solid. However depending on your stock may need some slight work to fit in the mag well which seems to be reported on several forums depending on which stock the gun has but no one explains how to fix it so ill explain. Out of the box you will see at the bottom of the metal portion of the mag it flares out and they do machine it slightly from the factory. Mine required a lot of force to seat and remove the mag and you could see where it was rubbing the mag well. Depending on access to tools you could go about this several ways, sanding, filing or a die grinder with very fine cookie cutter discs, i opted for the die grinder. I started by removing VERY small amounts of the flared portion then test fit, when i got it fitting easier i took a sharpie marker and colored the area that was ground and test fit again, when you remove again the sharpie will be rubbed off the high points, at which point remove slightly more. The idea is to have a snug fit because the loaded mag does weigh about 2-3lbs and you dont want to remove too much cause it will shake around and likely cause feed issues. When i was done grinding i cleaned it and cold blued it and took it out the next day and put a 555rnd box of winchester hollow point bulk through it, just plinking it functions like a normal mag, rapid fire i had maybe 6-12 FTF/jambs likely due more to ammo than the mag. Loading unfortunately has to be done by hand so no speed loader, it was a little difficult at first but after a few round i got it figured out, just follow the instruction manual takes about 5min to load and 30sec to unload :D.
All that said I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR MAG WHEN FITTING IT, IF YOUR NOT CAPABLE OF SIMPLE MACHINE WORK DONT TACKLE IT YOURSELF BECAUSE YOU WONT BE ABLE TO RETURN IT, AND AS ALWAYS DONT WORK ON LOADED FIREARMS MAKE SURE THEY ARE UNLOADED.
If anyone is unclear on my above explanation just say so and i can take a picture of what i did cause if your anything like me sometimes pictures just do the explaining so much better than words.
Happy new year and happy shooting.
