Wanstalls, are you in touch with Chiappa?

After reading the comments on the alaskan scout having some issues with the take down feature wearing out, are you in talks with Chiappa to beef this area up?

If so, what are they planning on improving to remedy this issue?

Where did you read that? These guns have been made like this for some time. My guess would be it's caused by hot hand loads, just a guess though. Cheers!

No one has contacted us regarding this issue....we have never seen or heard of this issue in store or first hand. Not much we can go to Chiappa with.

Read this on the other thread:

Yea! I feel you on that! I was serious about getting one too! Then read how some of them are getting loose at the take down joint, like what gives??? I really hope this problem will be addressed in the next ones. I am kinda Leary of them now! So if some of the members could comment on them, it would be appreciated thank you!

I thought I read from more than one person with the same issue, but if only one guy is having problems then your right, its not much to go to them with.

Believe that wanstalls meant without people reporting issues directly to wanstalls all they have to go back to Chiappa with is rumours on an Internet forum.

Makes sense. I assumed that if people were having issues, they would have talked with Wanstalls about it. I guess I ASSumed wrong!

    No harm done!

To tell the truth, we were confused here at the office when this thread popped up, until we dug up that post to see what was referenced. Chiappa takedowns are, in our experience, extremely tight. There's never been one on the books for warranty at all, let alone for the takedown mechanism. To my knowledge, I don't think we've ever sold a Chiappa 1892 rifle to an unhappy customer.

Chiappa have a fantastic rifle design and great attention to detail. I think we all feel extremely confident in them and we'd always be happy to stand behind them. With dozens and dozens going through our shop across several calibers (and now, several styles!) we have yet to see an issue.

Enjoy your takedown Chiappas and don't worry about what you feed them. With care towards maintenance and handling they'll never let you down and they print nice groups downrange as well.

    Cheers,
    Daniel
