Anyone use these yet? I was aware that some "fitting" was necessary to have them reliably work with an individual SVT-40 but the "Must use Gunsmith" in the description raised an eyebrow.

mine worked with minimal fitting
What exactly did that entail?

Egad, fegaboudit...$37 for shipping a magazine is a little too rich for my blood.

On mine it involved some fairly straightforward filing down of the catch on the rear of the magazine (it was too long for the catch in the magwell to engage).
And then some fine tuning on the feed lips on either side of the top of the magazine with a pair of pliers. Out of nthe box, they were bent too far over, holding the top round too low for the bolt carrier to pick up the top round and feed it into the chamber. This was the most fiddly part, and took a couple of attempts (with associated trips to the range) until I got it feeding as reliably (pretty much 100%) as the surplus mag that came with the rifle.
So... Not too hard, definitely within the skills of an earnest tinkerer. It just takes patience.
I bought two out of the last batch. one fit perfect one required fitting depends on your gun.

I just changed shipping rates on those.
If it does not fit use gunsmith if you do not know what are you doing.
Just ordered one -- interested to see how much work will be necessary.
