Forgive me, but i'm new to the M14 world. recently I picked up a nice 2009 m-305 and haven't even had the chance to stretch it's legs yet. that being said, I've been trying to do some research about the M14 and read up on them. I've heard a lot of people here speak of "m14 clinics". what are these ? ....one day "how to, DIY seminars" ?, if so where does one find more info on these "clinics" ?, thanks and cheers

they are basically just as you said "how to, DIY seminars" showing you what to look for in your rifle what might need to be adjusted EX. barrel indexing, op rod guide adjusting/peening gas system shimming, removal of flash suppressor, greasing and so on. yes there have been a clinics going, If you get a chance look up "Tactical Teacher" AKA Hungry AKA Barney on here, he is an excellent teacher and does these clinics when he can.

Yup, yer in southern ontario... Tactical teacher is yer man out east (and the occasional cross country tour).
I'm sure he'll be along .... But his clinic schedules can be found in his dealer forum.

As for west coast... I've been runnin the west coast m14 support group clinics since 2007 ;)

Dose this mean you will put on support clinic in Alberta? I am a newbie but I would really like to attend one. And I have few buddies that would to. I think once they see it is not that bad to work on they will be hooked.

Clinics are the very best way to learn but if one isn't available ( or even if they are ) read up on all the stickies and anything else you can and you will amass a lot of knowledge. Go slow and you will be surprised what you can teach yourself.

I don't personally have a network outside BC when it comes to organizing clinics.
That said, I have nothing against road trips ;)
I had pondered a cross country road trip, ending up in whitby ontario but I wasn't planning it with doing clinics along the way.
The M14 clinic road show is kinda hungry's thing, although I suppose if folks wanted me to I could entertain the idea.
What you need is a facility and a full group of 20 guys , in a bunch of towns along the route over a bunch of weekends and it would be a fun time :D
But I don't think I could pull it off this year

I've truly enjoyed my cross the country road trips and clinics but this year, I am being pulled into another direction. I've been asked to be the Match Director for the ORA 's Precision Rifle matches and suddenly my schedule filled right up with all sorts of matches on the weekend so now I cannot drive across the country to conduct 9 or 10 more clinics of various sorts (M14, CQB , sniper rifle). I am just run off my feet with this season's timetable.

So here is an opportunity for the talented 45acpking to hit the road since he will forget more than I can ever know about this platform. Ha ha ha ha I am humbled.

Cheers, Barney

Geez Barney, you sure know how to stroke a guys ego hehehe :D
In all seriousness , you are farrrr too modest about your talents

As for clinic road trips.... Folks can contact me if they think they can secure a suitable venue and organize a group to attend.... A pointman, ya that's it :D
In the immediate future, we have 2 clinic dates in the guildford area of Surrey, a week away. April 27 and a repeat on april 28. There's still room in both.
Cheers guys
