Barrel Length And External Chokes

In the hypothetical, would an external breacher's choke on a 12.5" count for a 14.5" length unwelded? Or would it have to be a permanent fixture to count?

Reminds of on bikers back in the day, with big old ape hangers. They'd just sit on their helmets to bridge the gap on bar height.

I'm not concerned. I don't run anything short of 18.5", but when the thought jumped into my head -- realized that I couldn't answer. So, off to the bright minds of CGN. My guess was either welded or one-piece, but I've been surprised many a time by Canadian loop holes.

Hypothetically, why do you want to go from 12.5" to 14.5", what loophole are you trying to meet or avoid?
 
Sometimes all you get is girlsh*t when you're trying to gain some knowledge. Haha. Why can't a question ever just be a question with you guys ;)

I had to think for a second about how to give some application....so...if a pistol grip were to be used, such as the Raptor grip, a 14.5" barrel would be needed to fulfill length requirements. If someone had a 12.5 with a 2 inch breacher's choke....and so on.

If two trains leave the station at the same time, one is travelling at....

Girlish? Perhaps... Or perhaps because your question had clearly already been answers we were trying to help you further by figuring out what the issue was.

There is the key to your statement. There is no legal way to make your barrel longer. HOWEVER any "permanently" attached anything contributes to OAL. Adding 2" to your barrel will not affect the legal length of the barrel, but adding 2" to the barrel will add 2" to the OAL of the firearm, and can legally put you over the 26" minimum. It helps to explain the entirety of what you are trying to do so that people can explain the rules in their entirety.
