^^ VERY nice! Would food grade cutting board beeswax be recommended for my M1? Followed by a really heavy wipe down? I'm being serious. That stock is beautiful. Or is there a recommended treatment to show off the wood?

Lol you buy boiled linseed oil, its done by the manufacturer. Most hardware stores carry it along with department stores like Walmart and Canadian Tire. Look for white 1l jugs around the paint section. For an authentic military finish you would want to use just linseed oil, they were not waxed in service. Pure linseed oil was used, BLO just polymerizes faster so you can add coats every few hours instead of every 24 hrs with pure linseed oil. Tung oil was used later, I'm sure someone can tell you when the switch was made. Remember, there are plenty of tung and linseed oil "finishes". These are not pure oil, they are a build up finish based with oil but cut with varnishes and thinners to be built up on the surface of the wood. The military used pure oils to soak in, not build up. If it says its toxic on the jug then its a finish, not an oil.

Thanks so much. I'll have to research how to boil linseed oil, and where to get it, etc. Looks incredible.

Orthoboy try Tung Oil - used to be known as Chinese Oil and in the early 1900's it was replaced by Linseed Oil as the latter was easier to get ( comes from Flax Seed I think ) than Tung Oil which was scarce due to trouble in China. I've nothing against BLO but try Tung Oil or Teak Oil and see what you think.

Well here's mine. A few years back P&D made a limited run of some rifles that they had Scott and Jeff @dycor tweak. They called them the P&D match socom and they made 10 of them. It's had a whole bunch of stuff done to it and I love the gun. I've had red dots on scout mounts and scopes on an ARMS 18 mount. I've since gone back to good old irons. This gun has been everywhere with me and I will never sell it. I'd love to find another one.
