Had a great time at the "practice" day. Only my second time shooting at 600 yards. Whoot ! Looking forward to the matches today! Shooting my Savage 10 fcp-k 223 with a bushnell 6500 scope. Shot a nice 2/3 MOA group at 600 yesterday with it.

X2 on sylencer putting this together and making it possible.
Barney, I represented team norinco plinko. I did ok to 400 but 500-600 I think I was showering the guys in the butts with dirt from the berm.
I also stumbled upon this... It's the rare klink1983 scavaging for scrap brass in the training area.

Got some pics up in the One Shot Tactical forum as well
Great day!!
Copied from the rules.....
"If your rifle is capable of shooting 1 MOA or less at 100 yards, you will automatically be placed in the Precision Class. Range staff has final say which class you will be shooting in. You will, however, have the option to compete in the “Precision” class if you wish to.
Examples of Sport Class; M-14, Standard AR15, Standard hunting rifle with light barrel and low end scope.
Examples of Precision Class; Remington 700, Sako TRG 22, Savage 10TR, Match ARs"
Yeah, someone definetly should have paid a bit more attention to who was shooting in what class.
Just to clarify ....The guy who won the sporting rifle class used an AR and is one heck of a good shot ( I have shot with him a few times now) , there were a few AR,s there that were in that class . And a couple were of a higher standard than his . Sylencer put ALOT of effort into organizing this event and tried his best to even the playing field as best he could. And further more Sylencer actually is out some of his own money as am I on putting this together . A $20 entry fee with a free lunch was a pretty good deal ...it wont be that price next year I can assure you .
It was a great shoot! I knew I wasn't going to win the rifle so it was a big personal development day for me. I'm more comfortable at 600yards with using my scope reticle to its fullest capability (Thank you Vortex sales guy)......and I walked away with some stickers, and a nice pair of Underarmour cool guy tactical pants courtesy of Millbrook in Ottawa.
My only question is why was a guy in sports class, if he took a scope of of a high end precision rifle and mounted it on his AR which ultimately was capable of 1/2 to 1/4 moa?
In the end, I would do this shoot in a heartbeat, and would have even paid $40.00 for it. Next time around ill work on bringing in some out of towners, I have some contacts in the Ottawa area, Kingston, and my old stomping grounds in Oshawa.
Good on ya sylencer! It was a gooder despite the weather!!
