Hi all :)

After trying WalMart x 2, Canadian Tire x 2, the two local firearm stores here in London as well as a couple of Canadian Online retailers (only to find their shelves completely bare or listed as "out of stock") I have come to the conclusion that there must be Shortage of .22 LR in High Velocity.

Anyone else having the same problem trying to find quantities of this ammo? :(

I have never experienced a shortage, maybe out when I went for it a couple times, but stocked up next time I was in. Is it people just panicking, or a particular brand?

Plenty of .22 around but the prices are getting really high.

Yup, X2. I was out looking for a few bricks to top up the ammo chest for a SK long weekend gopher shoot. For the prices I saw, they can keep them. Top dollar wanted for bottom of the barrel ammo. Rant off... Hopefully my stocks will hold up until sanity returns.

I've got a stash of over 30,000 rounds of Winchester 555. Stocked up at 19.77 per brick a few years back. Movers hated me when they loaded it in my half ton last year lol.

My local CT only had CCI CB shorts (2boxes) & Quiets (4boxes) and some Winchester SUPER X 37gr (5boxes) Wildcat (10boxes). Gun shops here have no problems getting stock.

Update: Just browsed CT Online and checked the inventory of 24 Southern Ont. stores and .22 cal of any brand is in very short supply. CT's prices suck anyway compared to my local gun shop.

I was into the local ct today and the one in Owen sound last night and 22 was pretty rare. About all my local store had was winchester 333's and the win wildcats. Was looking for remington or federals cause my marlin 60 absolutely hates winchesters but picked some of them up anyway for the old savage 24.

No matter where I check remington thunderbolts and winchester wildcats are still sitting on the shelf. I wonder why..? I'd even settle for that if the didn't want $35 a brick.

The good stuff is getting rare, the crap still sits on the shelf.
it won't be long before someone licks the crap off the shelf too.

"I licked the crap off the shelf" at my local walmart... it was Win Super-X T22.. it is so random it drives me insane. I'd have 3 of 5 shots inside a quarter at 65 yards! and 2 flyers high and/or low... not just regular flyers, but like 2" low! or 3/4" high! and I could feel the inconsistency of power when I shot each 1... horrible for actual target shooting! maybe I should start weighing my .22 rounds into similar weights before shooting them.
