help me identify my k98

I just bought a number matching k98. The problem is that i cant seem to identify the marking or find a year of manufacture. Its not German. Its a Spanish M43. Mauser 98.

with further research i have found that it is a spanish air force issue m-44. its in good shape... anyone else have info on this? price point? rarity?

You're correct. It's a Spanish Air Force M44. Not rare and not a lot of demand for them unfortunately. Prices range in the 250-350 mark so you did good at 150. They're a nice M98 and a bit under appreciated and under rated in my opinion.

Thanks for this info. I think mine would be on the higher end, as it is all number matching and has all part including retention bolts and cleaning rod. I think I will try to track down the accessories like a bayonet and original sling. I would assume it shoots 8mm Mauser?

or 7mm mauser. find out for sure before doing anything rash

Yes. 8mm. It is stamped 7.92 right on the receiver. I suppose there is a slim chance someone rebarreled or rechambered it. Never hurts to double check it.
