Ruger SR-22 or Ruger 10/22 with Archangel 556 stock?

I don't know if something has changed in the design, but I have no trouble taking my SR22 down without going anywhere near removing the top rail.
Personally, I like the look of the Nordic/SR22 chassis better.

Yeah they must have changed the design slightly to allow you to dissemble with rail left on top. I had one of the earlier ones where this wasn't possible.

Ruger 1022 all the way man... I bought one and put in an ATI Strikeforce, added a second pistol grip and the cheapo tasco red dot from Can Tire and I love it and it drives pin heads. Spent 12 gauge shells are my preferred target. The cool thing about that is if you buy a 1022 and purchase a stock separately is that you have 2 stocks should you ever need to make your gun look less "evil"... and the 1022 comes in and out of its original stock within seconds. Its also cheaper than buying the ruger already in the arch angel package. Not implying you were going to, but you cannot deny the superior design of the R-1022. If I was going to spend more than 4 or 500 on a gun I wouldn't be buying a 22LR. But thats me.

Year 2 using a Poly Arch Angel 556 kit, bought used for around 150.00 not had any issues at all. If I could have convinced myself I would have spent 100% more on the Nordic kit but just couldn't justify it.

Now I would have gone with a SR22 but wanted the option to move back to a conventional 1022 wood stock.

I'd go with the sr22 over 10/22 + aftermarket stock. More solid, no chance of stock fitting issues, personally I think it looks a lot better than any of the ATI/tapco/archangel stuff. I Run Guns has sr22 in stock if you don't want to wait.

I can't comment on the plastic sr kits, but I did have the mossberg 715 T flattop, it functioned great ,was light as a feather, then I tryed my buddies Sr22 and that was way better for me. I sold the 715 T , and have ordered the Nordic chassis, tac sol barrel, and am trying to get a blackrainordnance flash hider. I took a $350 loss on the mossberg, so I'm making sure I get what I want this time. To bad you couldn't see both to compare and feel what one you like. I just purchased everything in stages that way it's a little easier on the bad money.:)

SR22 and Nordic frames are the same. Nordic build them for Ruger ( correct me if I'm wrong ).
Its looking good but its not a really good design.

I had a custom built Nordic kit and sold everything. Will start all over again but around a T22 chassis.

The best tactical frame is without a doubt the TROY T22, it worth every penny.

Pics of my old Nordic...

I was told that also, also told that Nordic has a better anodizing job done. Just curious ,as I own neither one, but have ordered the Nordic chassis, why you say the Troy 22 is better? Seen some posts , where it says the T22 has some issues, not fitting together great , separating, etc.

I have about 600 rounds through my troy T22 and no separation issues at all, there were no fitting issues either. This is the the way this 10/22 will stay for a very long time, its a blast to shoot!

For 329 to my door, its well worth it, I've got well over a grand into this gun including the aimpoint, but I shoot it 10 times more than ant other rifle I own. Makes sense to me ;-)

Looks really cool, I'm in about $1000, I have a burris 536. 5x I think I will throw on it. Soon as my buddy gets back from Goose bay I'm getting some sandblasting and ceramic coating done :)

Most of people are very happy with the T22.

IMO the biggest flaw in the SR22/Nordic design is the top receiver part. I don't like those 4 tiny screws.
The Nordic is not crap but I really think the T22 is better. Don't get me wrong, I had fun with my Nordic kit but now I want to build the ultimate 10-22...
Oh and I really like those integrated Troy sights design, which are very-very good sights.
